Public Health in Emergencies, Water and Sanitation
The International Federation has four water treatment systems in PADRU, each with the capacity to service 10,000 people. Three of these systems are for massive water treatment and one is used for specialized water treatment. The Federation also relies on water distribution tanks with capacity to supply an additional 40,000 people. All the water treatment equipment has been previously tested in emergency operations in Pisco, Peru and Hurricane Stan in Guatemala amongst others.
Sanitation equipment is also available for the treatment of solid waste and includes shovels, picks, carts and fumigation pumps. |
